I worked with members of both the Photo and Outreach teams to create this Instagram design for our post on the Black Hair Care story. The Outreach team designed this post in a unique way for the Missourian, allowing for the photos to flow between slides of the post, as well as having some textual content. MaKayla Hart made the photo edit for this post, and I worked to prep these photos for the Outreach team's design.
I worked with both the Photo and Outreach teams at the Columbia Missourian to design and apply new Instagram cover images to our documentary films and Reel videos posted. These covers allow the audience to visually distinguish the Missourian Reels from others in the platform, as well as give context to what the video will be about before the viewer watches.
I worked directly with the photo editor, Tristen Rouse, to come up with a unique way to present his photo package on Instagram. I decided a GIF showcasing his four lead photographs would be best to give them the same treatment and keep them together as a collective in the post. We also included photos taken by the youth themselves. I create this GIF in Photoshop and Adobe Suite.
The full Instagram post and full story is about transgender and nonbinary youth documenting their lives in Missouri.
